Quality training makes quality teachers and ITT (Initial Teacher Training) is a key element to our TSA. Implementing the national initiatives for teachers to train for longer in a school environment, we offer different styles of training depending on the needs of the individual.
- We offer non-salaried School Direct training for those entering teaching either directly from university of from a different career; based in a school and training in the learning environment, the School Direct teacher training programme allows trainees to put theory into practice straight away, supported by quality tutoring from our higher education partner, the University of Cumbria.
- Non-salaried route training is similar to the PGCE but the trainee’s allocated school is responsible for 50% of the training provided.
- Forward Together also works with higher education provider partners to provide traditional PGCE-route school placements.
Working in collaboration with our higher education providers, trainees receive first-class mentoring, support and preparation for the classroom. Forward Together TSA is proud to have been able to find employment for many trainees who have worked with us within alliance schools; we are committed to ensuring that as many trainees as possible are able to go on to have a successful, long-term career.
